Urban Tool SlotBar Netbook Bag

slotbarUrban Tool SlotBar Netbook bag—a great netbook-specific case for porting around your netbook

Netbooks—the new tiny computers that have quickly taken over the market since their release just a few years ago—are designed to be, most of all, a highly transportable computer perfect for packing up and hitting the road.

Since these computers are made to travel (read about the best netbooks for traveling), it isn’t hard to figure out that it’s important to invest in some kind of protective case to keep your equipment safe on the road. And, since netbooks are so small, they won’t fit very well in most standard laptop bags.

Enter Urban Tool’s slotbar netbook case. This bag is a great choice for those looking for a netbook specific solution. It’s available in four colors, all with new-agey urban names—like Black, Mangrove, Eggplant and Mudd. Pretentious naming conventions aside, the unique construction of this bag offers style while sacrificing space.

Now, the slotbar seems to have all the right pockets, is the right size, and can be worn a variety of different ways (though I don’t recommend sporting it tool belt style like the guy on their web site, unless you want to look like an uber geek).

I like that you can wear the SlotBar several different ways and that it is designed specifically with a netbook in mind. I do not, however, really ever picture myself wearing my mini computer harnessed as tool belt anywhere in public. I’m proud to be a web geek, but wearing it as a holster just makes it look like you are carrying around loaded nerd weaponry. If that’s the look you’re going for, then by all means, holster that netbook up and buy a SlotBar.
