Outdoor Research Ultralight Ditty Sacks
Outdoor Research Ultralight Ditty Sacks – crazy light pack of stuff sacks
Stuff sacks are great for keeping organized on road trips, backpacking adventures, and round-the-world trips as well as keeping organized around the house. I find them a lot easier to pack than packing organizer cubes. You simply toss anything you want in the bag and pull the drawcord closure and you’re good to go.
The Outdoor Research Ditty Bags are as simple as they get. At less than an ounce a bag, these ditty bags are not only ridiculously light, but durable as well. They come in a 3-pack – the large is perfect for a sleeping bag, the medium is good for clothing, and the small is great for odds and ends like sunscreen, headlamps, and maps.
The Outdoor Research Ditty Sacks are also available in airy mesh style if you’d like to be able to view your sack’s contents. Plus mesh is the way to go if you’re traveling in a humid climate, the mesh let’s your contents breathe a bit and reduces stench. There are also plenty of waterproof stuff sacks on the market like the Sea to Summit eVent Compression Sack and the Granite Gear Uberlight Dry Bags if you want total water protection.

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10
If you’re looking for some basic stuff sacks, the Outdoor Research Ultralight Ditty Sacks are as simple as stuff sacks get. They are super light, durable, and easy to cinch tight. Just be careful if you’re packing any sharp objects in these, the material is pretty thin and I could see it getting punctured if you don’t pack right.
