DaKine Mission Ski and Snowboard Pack

dakinemissionDaKine Mission Pack—The perfect pack for those missions out of the gate and into untracked powder fields.

DaKine has a good reputation for making solidly engineered packs that are not only well designed and easy to use, but also are durable and built to last a long time. The DaKine Mission ski and snowboard pack is no exception—and has a ton of features that make it great for multi-purpose use.

The DaKine Mission pack is designed for the flash boarder—with a padded Mp3 music/organizer pocket that’ll keep your tunes queued up for those loops down the slopes. It also features a padded laptop section, so you can pack up your computer and load those sick photos from the afternoon shred fest after a day on the slopes. There is also a padded compartment made for you camera/video camera, so you don’t have to worry about breaking your gear or missing the shot of your buddy throwing an amazing 360.

However, in addition to having great features for you electronic devices, the Mission Pack is also designed for those who want to hike the ridge, duck the gate and hit a little of the sidecountry. It features a ski and board carry system (vertical snowboard carry, diagonal ski carry) that lets you strap your planks or boards on when hiking to the top or hoofing back to the lift after an amazing sidecountry run.

This bag also features a fleece lined goggle compartment so you want scratch your specs, a deployable water bottle pocket to stay hydrated (or bring along a tall boy to enjoy at the bottom of the run), and a zippered shovel blade pocket and external shovel handle holster for when you venture a little deeper into the backcountry.

While this pack may not be quite as great of a pure backcountry pack, it is perfect for those who tend to stick mostly on-piste and do quick trips through the gates into the sidecountry. While the shovel compartment and holster are good for your avy-tools and the ski/board system make it ideal for day-trips into the backcountry, this pack was mostly designed for riders who want to use the pack mostly for in resort skiing with some quick sidecountry jaunts.

That being said, if you are looking for a pack that’ll serve you both on and off the slopes (the padded laptop compartment, and padded mp3 pocket make it a great pack for the plane, going to school or whatever else), the DaKine Mission pack is perfect for you. A multi-purpose ski and snowboard pack, that’ll work just as well on the slopes as off, you can’t go wrong with the Mission.
