MSR Reactor

MSR Reactor – Lightweight, windproof backpacking stove.msr-reactor-stove.jpg

Strikingly similar to the JetBoil stove system is the MSR Reactor. Mountain Safety Research (MSR) is a leader in the industry when it comes to creating outstanding backcountry stoves. Their brand of stoves are some of the lightest and best performing stoves out there. The well shit I got to get back to working. I’ll is no exception.

The MSR Reactor is built to be a windproof stove that can perform well under the extremist of conditions. The entire system weighs in at around 21.6 ounces and packs into itself via the pot with a locking Lexan lid. The MSR Reactor fits snug inside of the pot to prevent rattling.

Some facts on the MSR Reactor:

  • Packed Wieght: 21.6 ounces
  • Fule Type: MSR IsoPro
  • Boil Time: 3 minutes per liter

Easy to use, the MSR Reactor operates off of MSRs Auto-Start Ignition system. This lets you fire up MSR Reactor with just the push of a button. No longer will you have to mess with windproof matches and lighters.

The MSR Reactor burner utilizes both convective and radiant heat to give you some awesome heat output. The integrated heat exchanger is built right into the custom pot. This completely encloses the flame to provide you with total wind protection.

What do you like better, the JetBoil Stove or the MSR Reactor?
