Flip Ultra Camcorder

31er5qqx86l_sl500_aa280_I have been a fan of the Flip Camcorder ever since it came out. Normally when I see things like this that I like, I go right out and buy them. Somehow I managed to hold off on the orginal Flip Camcorder and Im glad I did. The Flip line has only got better with time. They now have the Flip Ultra, as well as the Flip HD. While the Flip HD looks cool, I decided against it because I have had problems with cheap HD camcorders before. Plus, there are a lot cooler accessories for the Flip Ultra like a waterproof case. I have recorded several videos with my Flip Ultra now and feel confident in sharing my thoughts on it.

Overall, I am really happy withe the Flip Ultra Camcorder. It does exactly what it is meant to do. What is it meant to do? The idea behind the Flip Ultra Camcorder is that you can have a small video camera that makes it super easy for you to capture and share video. I like the fact that the Flip Ultra Camcorder doesn’t look like a traditional video camera. I think it makes people that are camera shy a little more comfortable in front of the camera. The size is great as well because it is so sleek and small that you can easily slip it in your pants pocket comfortably.

My only gripe with the Flip Ultra Camcorder is that it doesn’t always play nice with your computer. Sometimes when you open the video files from a third party application and not the built in software it can make the camera its self act funny the next time you use it. These problems can usually be fixed pretty simply by just deleting the video files while the camera is still plugged into your computer. Should that not work, you can always email the support staff at the official website.

The quick & dirty:

Where you can get one:
Amazon.com: $124

Why they rock:

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10
One thing that I will gives props on the Flip is the customer services. When I had my first run in with the problem I mentioned above, I emailed the support staff. I had an initial resolution within just a few hours. Pretty impressive customer service if you ask me. All and all I am really pleased and excited with the Flip Ultra Camcorder and plan on doing a lot more videos in the future.
