Best Travel Skirts – versatile and comfortable travel clothing

A good packer knows that everything that ends up in your luggage should serve multiple purposes on your trip. During that month long backpacking trip, you’re going to want to make sure that everything you lug around on your back is going to get worn more than once.

That’s why packing a super versatile and functional travel skirt is so fantastic. Skirts can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion and some are even great for hiking in. Many companies make skirts specifically for travel with built-in UPF protection, plenty of pockets, quick-drying, and wrinkle-resistant properties.

The Patagonia Vitaliti is my personal fave.  Made from a wrinkle-resistant blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester, the Vitaliti breathes nicely, stretches and moves with you, plus you can pull it out of the bottom of your pack, shake it out, and put it on and it looks like you just took it off the hanger. If I get this skirt in a few more colors I might just wear it everyday.

Skirts made from linen, like the Horny Toad Flourish Skirt, are great for warm and humid climates. Linen is so light and comfy, plus it breathes well and keeps dry. Prana makes some adorable skirts like the Prana Bina, that can easily be dressed up yet offers plenty of comfort for a day touring the city sites.

The Isis Melbourne Skirt was designed specifically for travel. With built-in 50+ UPF protection, a hidden passport pocket, wrinkle resistant nylon, and overall comfort and good looks, the ISIS Melbourne is begging to go on your next trip. ExOfficio’s Women’s Go-To Skirt was also designed with the traveler in mind. The Go-To is odor resistant, moisture wicking, and quick drying so you can wear this skirt days on end and give it a quick sink wash to freshen it up.
