A laptop backpack

Not sure where to start? Here are some of the most popular laptop backpacks:

  • North Face Bigshot
  • eBags Downloader
  • High Sierra Crush
  • OGIO Metro
  • High Seierra Access

Laptop Backpacks – Carry more than just your computer.

A messenger style laptop case may work well for jaunts to your local coffee shop or internet café, but what about when you need to carry more? Good luck trying to carry a days worth of college school books, a laptop, jacket, and maybe lunch in a messenger bag. If need room for a little more, maybe you should think about a laptop backpack.

The great thing about a laptop backpack is its versatility. Many laptop backpacks can easily be used for both work and play. There are several packs out there that are made for just that. For example, many laptop pockets in a daypack also double as bladder pocket.

As I mentioned before, the best feature of a laptop backpack is the room it offers. With a laptop backpack you have plenty of room for all your school stuff. The main compartment can usually hold your laptop, books, and a jacket. The outer pockets usually have some sort of organizer to help keep pens, keys, money, etc, separated.

When looking at laptop backpacks there are a few things you may want to consider. One of them is the area for the laptop. Is the area padded? Can it be used for something else when not carrying a computer? What’s the maximum size computer it can hold? Another thing to think about is what sort of space does it offer for all your laptop accessories like cables and network cards.

Spire Backpacks : http://www.spireusa.com/products/index.htm
They are one of the few companies that put the laptop pouch on the outer edge of the pack, AWAY from your back, so there is less chance of the device/screen getting bent. they also make a selection of padded inserts for different laptop sizes

STM bags : http://www.stmbags.com.au/home
Because a lot of their stuff just doesn’t look like a laptop bag. Their shoulder bags are some of the best if you have to get your laptop in and out quickly (like in TSA security lines)

Tom Bihn bags are made here in the US. I’m quite happy with the two I own and use. They were the only company I could find whose sleeves put the laptop in a neoprene sling. I can (and have) accidentally drop the bag to the floor without worrying about the laptop. The rest of the bags are well laid out as well.
