REI Clipper Tent

rei-clipper.bmpREI Clipper Tent – All around great 2 person tent.

I almost forgot that you could buy a decent tent for under $100. For the most part, every two person tent under a c-note is some crappy Wal-Mart brand shelter that falls apart after the first big storm. Lucky for us there are people like REI who still believe that just because its priced cheap doesn’t mean it should be made cheap.

The REI Clipper Tent is currently priced for closeout at less than $100! While there are only a limited amount of these tents left, its not because they are bad tents. The REI Clipper Tent is anything but a crappy tent. This two person three season tent is great for the casual backpacker or regular car camper. Its even small and light enough for bike touring with a buddy.

The freestanding REI Clipper Tent features a pole clip system and DAC Featherlite poles with locking tips. This makes for a super quick setup. There is also a nice sized vestibule for storing extra gear outside the tent. The inside floor seams are designed to maximize floor space and the factory taped seams ensure a waterproof seal.

The quick & dirty:

Where you can get one:
eBay?

Why the rock:

  • 2 Person
  • 3 season

Why it bites:

  • On closeout and hard to find

If you come across this tent at a garage sale or online, pick it up, you wont be sorry. Unfortunately that may be the only place you can still find them for sale.
