Marmot DriClime Vest – Great for a number of conditions.

Maybe its because I grew up in Florida, but I never really appreciated the value of a good vest until I started working in Alaska. Notice I said a “good vest”? Thats because not all vests are created equal. The Marmot DriClime Vest is definitely one that falls under the category of a good vest.

Ever since its arrival on the market, the Marmot DriClime Vest has been a top performer. Recently though, Marmot decided that the Marmot DriClime Vest could perform even better. The newer line of Marmot DriClime Vest includes an updated shell fabric and a Defender Durable Water Repellent finish.

The Marmot DriClime Vest is extremely versatile. It can be used as a mid layer to give you added warmth or as a outer layer for extreme activities in the cold. The DriClime knit fabric lining works to draw moisture away from your skin to keep you dry and help prevent coldness caused by sweat.

The quick & dirty:

Where you can get one:
Amazon: $39

Why they rock:

  • Polyester shell’s new finish adds water, oil and stain repellency, as well as soil release; dirt and grime won’t penetrate so vest is easy to clean
  • DriClime bi-component knit fabric lining mechanically draws moisture away from your skin to keep you dry, warm and comfortable
  • Back panel is unlined for improved breathabilty
  • Draft flap backing the full-length zipper keeps cold air out
  • Features drawcord-adjustable, DriClime-lined collar with chin guard
  • Includes two open hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket
  • Athletic, close-fitting cut with droptail hem

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10

I like the Marmot DriClime Vest for its sporty fit and versatility. It is lightweight and comfortable enough to wear around camp and not overheat, but will perform well when I need the extra warmth.
