Skullcandy Link Hydro Pack – MP3 Ready hydration pack.

A while back I did a post about some of the top hydration packs on the market, but none of them come close to the Skullcandy Hydro Pack. Aside from being super comfy, exceptionally stylish, and well made; the Skullcandy Link Hydro Pack is the only hydration pack with built in speakers that can handle iPods, MP3 payers, and even some cell phones! I like to think of this pack as the ultimate day pack for mountain bikers and the urban outdoorsman.

I had seen a lot of Skullcandy products before, but never really had a chance to test one out until now. To me, these always seemed like they would be sub-par products that were made popular by a cool name and logo. After weeks of rigorous use in Costa Rica, I can testify that I couldn’t have been more wrong about that. The Skullcandy Link Hydro Pack has handle the brutalities of the beach, prolonged exposure to the elements, and all the others hazards that come with traveling in the tropics.

The big selling point of the Skullcandy Link Hydro Pack though, has to be its built in speaker system. The pack has two speakers built into the shoulder straps of the pack. The speakers rest near the top of your shoulders for optimal sounds quality. Further down on the straps are the controls for your MP3 player. You can power on the speakers and iPod, skip songs, adjust the volume, and even answer your Bluetooth ready phone.

Where You Can Get One: Skullcandy Website

Why it Rocks

  • Big zippers pulls and tough zippers
  • Expandable main pocket
  • Can hold a small laptop
  • Awesome back panel padding
  • Integrated speakers have awesome sound quality
  • Plenty of smaller pockets and pouches for organizing

Final Thoughts
I must say that I am really impressed with the Skullcandy Link Hydro Pack. I wasn’t expecting much when I received the pack to test, but was pleasantly surprised with how well it performed and what it had to offer. I feel the need to reiterate just how comfortable this pack is. The wide shoulder straps have a nice cut and are well padded. The padding on the back keeps the pack comfortable and gives your back plenty of room to breath and stay dry.
