Pure Digital Flip Video Camcorder- AKA The Flip Camcorder
The Flip Camcorder may not be the ideal choice for the Steve Spielberg wannabe, but its pretty freakin sweat for travelers. If youre looking for an easy way to shoot and upload videos of your travels, the Flip Camcorder is just what you are looking for.
Ease and simplicity are the name of the game here. The technologically handicapped will appreciate the Flip Camcorders lack of buttons and menus. There’s no setting to get lost in or complicated menus to figure. There are 4 main buttons and that’s about it.
Some quick facts about the Flip Camcorder:
- Weight – 4.8 ounces
- Size – 4.1 x 2.3 x 1.3 inches
- 1GB of Flash memory
- Shoots 60 min of 30 fps video
To get started recoding videos with the Flip Camcorder, all you have to do is power on the camera and hit the big red record button. Once your done shooting video, press the record button again to stop shooting. How easy is that?
Once you get a handful of videos, you can start uploading them to the web or email to friends. A great thing for travelers is that the Flip Camcorders software comes installed on the camera; meaning that you can use the Flip Camcorder in any internet café. Just flip out the Flip Camcorder USB and plug it in.
A few final words about the Flip Camcorder; as I said before its great for uploading to youtube, emailing videos, or posting videos on your travel blog. I wouldn’t recommend it for much more. The quality of the video is great by web/computer standards, but doesn’t show up well on any sized TV.
Have you used the Flip? Id love to see some videos taken with it.
