Olympus Stylus 770SW - The worlds tougest water proof digital camera.

I’ve been talking a lot about water proof digital cameras lately. Why, why not? They are the perfect buy for any traveler. They certainly don’t come cheap, but what they do come with is loads of features, peace of mind, and the ability to get some killer shots.

The Olympus Stylus 770SW is one such camera. Prices start around $359.99. That may sound like a lot, but this bad boy is around the low end of the price range (as far as water proof digital cameras go.) What do you get for all the dough? Let’s find out.

Olympus Stylus 770SW

How about a 7.1 megapixel, waterproof, freeze-proof, and crush-proof design? Can your digital camera make any of those claims?

To go into a little more detail, the Olympus Stylus 770SW is designed to be the world’s toughest digital camera. No longer will you have to worry about throwing around your digital camera in a drunken stupor, carrying it in your pocket in the pouring rain, or accidentally stepping on it. Who does all those things? I don’t know, but I’m sure stranger things have happened.

Here are some quick highlights about the Olympus Stylus 770sw:

  • 7.1 megapixels
  • 3x optical zoom
  • Shockproof to 5 feet
  • Waterproof to 33 feet
  • Freezeproof
  • Crushproof to 220 pounds
  • 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD
  • 27 Shooting Modes including Movie with Sound

What I don’t like about it:
I’m a cheapskate, so this is a lot of money for me. But I’m also an avid travel and photographer. So, regardless of the price, I still think it’s a great buy.

This is a great camera. For a 7 megapixel, the pictures aren’t the best, but they’re still good. And the fact that you’re getting a water, crush, shock, freze - proof camera is great!

It can withstand up to 220 lbs. of pressure, temperatures as low as 14 degrees F., is shockproof up to 5 ft., and is waterproof up to 33 ft.!

What other camera can do all that!

If you need a durable camera, this is a great buy.

I own this camera, it’s great as an underwater camera and take decent pictures but if you don’t think you’re going to need the water proof camera get something else. the night pictures are not very good. the CCD is amplified to much and it given the pictures a grainy look at night. the canon i had before this took better pictures in general.

This camera is actually waterproof to more than 33ft. took this puppy to 60 ft, although fuctions started to not work. buttons started to become pressed from the pressure, i could still take photos BUT the settings were from where i was at 33 ft.

the camera is still alive and well. no water anywhere
