msr-fury.jpgMSR Fury 2 HP Tent – A stellar, 2 person, 4 season tent.

With the MSR Fury 2 HP Tent you get an outstanding tent built to handle the elements of four seasons, but in a compact design for two people. The new version of the MSR Fury 2 HP Tent has been reduced in weight by around half a pound, but hasn’t lost any of the features that made it great to begin with.

The MSR Fury 2 HP Tent sets up with just three poles. The poles system uses a Compression Tension System to increase the overall performance of the tent. This Compression Tension System helps to improve the tents strength, give you more headroom, and create the most possible floor space. The MSR Fury 2 HP Tent also features a hooped vestibule to give you plenty of room for your gear.

Inside the tent you will find plenty of ventilation options to regulate the temperature. The venting options on the MSR Fury 2 HP Tent include the door, the large mesh window in the rear of the tent, and the peak vent which has kick stand support. This expedition style door systems uses an improved mesh and zips ultra tight to keep the elements at bay.

The quick & dirty:

Where you can get one:
Amazon: $499

Why they rock:

  • Color-coded poles and continuous pole sleeves provide easy setup
  • DryGuys guyout your tent in extreme conditions with up to a 10mm climbing rope; won’t wick, freeze or hold water
  • Polyurethane-coated rainfly and floor provide excellent waterproofness and durability
  • Interior pockets, removable gear loft and utility loops keep your gear organized and accessible
  • Adjustable stake loops have ladderloc tensioner that is backed up by a second webbing loop; four-season loops are large enough to accept skis
  • Expedition door system vents tent interior with improved nylon mesh and zips shut to keep out the elements
  • Enlarged zipper pulls and buckles withstand extreme weather and can be easily manipulated with mittens or gloves
  • MSR uses non-wicking materials throughout; these prevent water weight gain during your trip and won’t transport water into the tent
  • Includes stuff sacks, stakes and guyline

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10

The MSR Fury 2 HP Tent is really just an overall awesome two person, four season tent. Its small without being cramped, has all the features you look for in a four season tent, and best of all, its super light for a four season tent. If you aren’t going to backpacking a group of people, theres no need for a large and heavy four person four season tent.
