Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack

marmot-palidan.jpgMountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack – Not your average computer bag.

Take one look at the Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack and its easy to see that its not your average computer bag. The unique design of the Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack gives you plenty of room for your gear and computer, all while keeping them separated.

The Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack is advertised as being able to hold up to a 17 inch laptop. You may want to take that measurement with a grain of salt. Many customers have complained about not being able to fit some 17 inch laptops into the laptop sleeve. Double check the packs dimensions to make sure your laptop will fit.

There are two main compartments on the Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack. One of them is the laptop compartment. This padded compartment is located behind the main compartment and is accessible from the outside. The main compartment is very sturdy and has plenty of room for books and a jacket.

Why they rock:

  • Main compartment stows books, lunch and an extra layer of clothing; two internal sleeves organize files, magazines and notebooks
  • Padded laptop sleeve holds up to a 17 in. laptop computer; sleeve is accessed from the exterior, allowing quick retrieval of your computer
  • Organizer pocket under top lid stows pens/pencils, PDA and computer peripherals
  • Fleece-lined top slash pocket keeps sunglasses, digital music player and cell phone within easy reach
  • Stretch mesh cell phone pocket on shoulder strap keeps your phone easily accessible
  • Stretch mesh side pockets hold water bottles
  • Spacer mesh backpanel with EVA padding and ventilation channels keeps you comfortable while in transit
  • Dual-density shoulder straps and removable webbing belt effectively support the load
  • Large anodized aluminum tube handle lets you carry the bag at your side
  • Side compression straps secure the load

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 8 out of 10

What I like about this strange looking computer bag is in fact what makes it look strange, its shape. The shape keeps the Mountain Hardwear Paladin Computer Pack sturdy and won’t loose its shape when filled with an odd assortment of gear or books. The fleece lined top pocket is also a great sport for small electronics like iPods and phones.
