JVC HANC250 High-Grade Noise-Cancelling Headphones

JVC HANC250 High-Grade Noise-Cancelling Headphones

The word on the street is to go Bose when it comes to noise-cancelling headphones, but If you can’t quite afford to go with the Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones some of our readers suggest going with the JVC HANC250’s. At just over a hundred bucks, these are a steal compared to the $300 Bose headphones.

Touted as reducing up to 85% of background noise, the JVC Noise-Cancelling headphones combines superior sound quality with noise cancelling technologies. Great for the airplane or the office, the headphones use a special cancellation circuitry including feedback technology and a double housing structure on each earpiece to keep you isolated from background noise.

One nice feature of the JVC’s is the ability to switch the noise-cancelling feature on and off. This is great if you want to be listening to your tunes but also want to be aware of the sounds around you like if you want to be able to hear someone calling your name or if you want to know when they are making announcements on the plane.

As for comfort, the JVC’s are pretty lightweight at only 5.3 ounces and they fold up nice and flat to stow away easily in their included carrying case plus they get high rankings in comfort.

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10

My heart is still set on the Bose Headphones, but it is highly unlikely that I will ever be seen with anything other than my white Apple ear buds. The JVC’s get high marks for comfort and sound quality, but their sound-cancelling technology gets about 4 out of 5 starts since it is lagging just a bit behind Bose.
