HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion – More than just a GPS unit.

To call the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion GPS unit would be an understatement. Heck, to call it a navigation system still seems a little insulting. The HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion does a lot more than give turn-by-turn directions on a colorful screen. With the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion, you get a taste of what is in store for the future of personal navigation systems.

The HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companions screen is an amazing 4.3 inches. It also uses a 3D technology that allows you to view maps either topographically or at street level (think Google Street View). This makes for some fool-proof navigation.

Aside from the cool screen and pretty maps, the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion also syncs this with a Bluetooth cell phone to make the unit hands free unit. It also supports audio and video playback.

The quick & dirty:

Seat-of-the-pants rating: 9 out of 10

One of my favorite features of the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion is its sizes and the fact that it is battery powered. While many navigation units are battery powered, the car ones tend to be too bulky for use outside of the car. But, the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion is sleek enough to comfortably carry around in your pack or jacket pocket, making it great for exploring new cities on foot. Plug it into your car, and then stick it in your pocket as you explore on foot.
