12 Days of Travel Gear Giveaways: Win an ENO Double Deluxe Hammock!

By Amiee Maxwell | Permalink | 101 comments | December 13th, 2010

According to random.org, the lucky winner of the ENO Double Deluxe Hammock goes to lucky commenter 56 Mark Smith. Still 11 more chances to win…

On the first day of Travel Gear Holiday Giveaway you can win an Eagles Nest Outfitter (ENO) Double Deluxe Hammock. I raved about ENO’s DoubleNest Hammock a few months back so I am happy to kick off Travel Gear Blog’s 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways with ENO’s new Double Deluxe Hammock – a portable travel hammock with enough room for two and then some.

The Double Deluxe offers all the same great features of ENO’s popular DoubleNest and SingleNest Hammocks plus it’s roomier. The added width let’s you relax and recline in every position imaginable. Made from high-strength, breathable woven nylon, the Doublenest Deluxe will stand up to a fair deal of use and abuse.

I am personally stoked on travel hammocks after trying out the DoubleNest. It is just so comfy I can’t imagine a camping trip without it. Oh and did I mention that ENO hammocks come in all sorts of fun colors and they make great gifts for adventure travelers?

If you’re going to go with an ENO Hammock I highly recommend picking up some of their Slap Straps – they make hammock set up a breeze. You just slap the straps around a tree, attach the carabiners at the desired length, and you’re good to chill.

The quick & dirty:
Item: ENO Double Deluxe Hammock
Company: Eagle’s Nest Outfitters
Where you can find it:
Eagles Nest Outfitters: $79.95
See all of the 12 Days of Travel Gear Giveaways

Why they rock:

  • ENO’s largest portable hammock to date
  • High-strength, breathable woven nylon and triple interlocking stitching holds up to use and abuse
  • Marine-grade line with metal snap links securely attach to trees, posts, boat masts and whatever else you can find
  • Maximum capacity: 400 pounds
  • Weight: 29 ounces
  • Built-in stuff sack

How to Win:

We will be featuring one giveaway a day for the next 12 days. All you need to do is enter a comment below to be entered to win. To be considered for the day’s giveaway, comments must be received by 11:59pm PST December 13, 2010. Winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Travel Gear Blog and Facebook the following day. Sorry, but we can only ship prizes to US addresses. Winners will be notified by email and prizes need to be claimed within one week or another name will be drawn.

If you could be relaxing in a hammock anywhere right now, where would it be?

Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn’t I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there’s four places. There’s the Hammock Hut, that’s on third.
    Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There’s Hammocks-R-Us, that’s on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
    Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That’s on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot… Matter of fact, they’re all in the same complex; it’s the hammock complex on third.

I saw these at the Ocean City Sunfest and couldn’t afford one because my husband was on his way back from Iraq & I had travel expenses coming up & final bills for the move. I fell in love with the whole set up with the rain fly & net & to this day keep thinking of them. The military gets nice benefits but such small paychecks that the $ just isn’t there yet. But if I had one right now I would choose to strap it up in Hot Springs near a lake, then to the Oregon Coast (I’ve been longing to go take pictures there) & then a beach somewhere…we’re at Fort Hood Texas so I guess Port Aransas or Corpus Christi would be closest. I would so prefer this to the traditional tent! What a wonderful adaptation to a traditional product. LOVE IT!
