After reading all the rave reviews on packing cubes by travel bloggers everywhere, I am convinced I need a set. I didn’t even know such a thing existed until I was cruising the REI travel aisle a few weekends ago and saw the wide variety of packing cubes by Eagle Creek. I went home and googled the cubes to see what the deal was and found nothing but fabulous reviews about how packing cubes revolutionized previously disorganized travelers packing style. I am a horribly disorganized traveler so I need any help I can get.
For those of you just as clueless as I was, packing cubes are rectangular pouches that come in a variety of sizes that help you organize your clothes and assorted travel gear. Not only do they keep your belongings more organized and less wrinkled, but they also maximize the space in your suitcase leaving you with extra space so you can jam in even more stuff. These babies would make an excellent gift idea for travelers.
Many different companies make packing cubes and I don’t really see what the difference is between the different brands except for the Eagle Creek 2-Sided Cubes have a separator that keeps your dirty clothes separated from your clean ones. All the other packing cubes pretty much look the same and have the same features. So here are some of the best I’ve seen:

Eagle Creek Organized Traveler Cube Set
The Eagle Creek Pack-It Cubes are lightweight little packs made from recycled nylon with mesh tops for visibility and breathability and a quick grab handle for an easy grab and go. The travel set includes three different sized cubes with a large size great for pants, shirts, and sweaters, a medium great for shorts, t-shirts, and underwear, and a small size perfect for socks and small odds and ends.
eBags Packing Cube Set
eBags Packing Cubes look very similar to the Eagle Creek cubes, but they have a bit more mesh so you can easily see the bag’s contents. The eBags Packing Cubes get high marks for durability and they’re available in many different sizes and colors. eBags also offers some clever travel gift sets that include the packing cubes with other useful gear like plug adapters and shoe sleeves.
Eagle Creek Pack-It 2-Sided Cube
Eagle Creek Pack-It 2-Sided Cubes help keep your wet and dirty clothes separated from your clean ones. I guess you could easily use a compression sack for your dirty clothes and then divide your clean goods in half and store them on both sides of the pack so you don’t have to keep digging to the bottom of the bag for what you need. Either way you have a 2-sided pack to help you keep organized on the go.
